Supply Chain Role. Role Type: Permanent. Location: Co Cavan. A leading manufacturing company in Cavan are looking for a Supply Chain Buyer / Planner to join their team. Role and Responsibilities: The successful applicant shall be responsible for overall management and supply of direct and indirect and indirect material and goods into a manufacturing facility in Cavan while optimising inventory levels and ensuring availability of materials in line with planned requirements. The successful candidate will also pay a pivotal role in the wider global group procurement team. Key Role, Tasks and Activities: Manage the supply of raw materials and non stock inventory. Manage longer term requirements in order to ensure sufficient supply in line with forecast and reorder points. Expedite material delivery on a daily basis and generate and manage supply recovery plans. Take ownership for inventory levels ensuring stock levels are in control. Maintain and manage communication with internal teams and all suppliers. Report on supply issues/shortages, inventory levels and logistics. Monthly reporting on procurement KPI's. Education and Experience: Minimum of Leaving Certificate or country equivalent. IIPMM or APICS qualification preferred but not essential. Minimum 3 years experience in a similar role in an ERP environment - Preferably SAP. Thorough knowledge of day to day practises within MRP system (Material requirements planning. Understanding of forecasting, demand planning and procurement techniques. Skills and Knowledge: Basic understanding of one or more Supply chain components ( Logistics, Procurement, Planning, Warehouse Management, Transport ) Proactive attitude to work. Strong Excel / Word & Powerpoint skills are necessary. Attributes: Excellent communication skills. Ability to prioritise and organise work and deliver to agreed deadlines. Work on own imitative in difficult situations and work methodically to resolve issues. Ability to perform under pressure. Ability to negotiate with difficult suppliers.
