My client, a global manufacturing company, are seeking an experienced Buyer/Purchaser to join their team in the Midlands/Leinster region. This is a Senior role reporting to Supply Chain Team Leader, responsible for managing purchased part and raw material inventory ensuring all purchases are executed in line with Blobal Procurement Policies. Position Overview: Responsible for managing purchased part and raw material inventory ensuring all purchases are executed in line with Global procurement policies. Primary key metrics are on time shipments to customers, and raw material and purchased part inventory levels. On high volume commodities and parts, responsible for managing the Kanban programs established by sourcing. On lower volume commodities and parts, responsible for planning discrete replenishment via MRP. Works closely with Production Supervisor in securing items that are ordered to a specific customer order. Business is a make to order business with a large component of customization. Also works closely with Sourcing in implementing newly developed Kanban programs. Secondary responsibilities include providing service to New Product Development in procuring new components for New Products. Essential Job Functions: Review MRP reports and respond to action messages. Prepare and enter purchase orders for all supplies and raw materials. Attend production meetings to review promised ship dates with Customer Service. Provide critical component availability to meet commitments to customers. Send replenishment signal to vendors via Kanban programs. Review/modify Kanban parameters to changing demand patterns. Manage the Material Review Board (MRB) location to expeditiously disposition rejected materials. Maintain accurate replenishment dates in the MRP system. Monitor and maintain transactions from order entry through approval, confirmation, timely delivery and receipt of goods. Resolve invoice discrepancies with Accounts Payable. Education/Skills/Knowledge Required: Business Degree with Supply Chain emphasis preferred. 3-5 years of supply chain experience. Sourcing experience preferred. APICS Certified preferred. Knowledge of inventory management system PFEP preferred. Strong Analytical skills. Attention to detail - ensuring all data entered into systems is accurate and current to enable accurate reporting and KPI management and appropriate escalation. Ability to be versatile and adapt to a fast-paced environment. Strong working Knowledge of MRP, ERP systems, Excel, and database programs Experience using Epicor and Smart software an advantage but not necessary. Must have the ability to combine pieces of information to form general rules or conclusions, ability to tell when something is wrong or is likely to go wrong, and ability to apply general rules to specific problems to produce answers that make sense. Ability to tell when something is wrong or is likely to go wrong, recognizing a problem and assuming primary responsibility for the solution by taking the initiative to solve the problem with a combination of sourcing savvy and strong communication skills.
