Our client is a well-established residential developer, committed to building high quality homes with a very high quality finish. They now seek a Purchasing Officer on a permanent basis in Cavan. Responsibilities: • Research potential suppliers. • Create and maintain good relationships with Suppliers. • Compare and evaluate offers from suppliers. • Negotiate contract terms of agreement and pricing. • Track orders and ensure timely delivery. • Review quality of purchased products. • Enter order details (e.g. suppliers, quantities, prices) into internal databases. • Prepare reports on purchases, including cost analyses. • Monitor stock levels and place orders as needed. • Plant management and maintenance. • Organise and update database of suppliers in line with our quality procedure. • Collaborate with financial team members on contracts, invoicing, and other financial matters. Requirements. • Proven work experience as a Purchasing Officer. • Experience in Sage 50 purchasing package or similar (an advantage. • Proficient computer skills including Microsoft office suite (word, excel, outlook, powerpoint) and adobe. • Good knowledge of supplier sourcing practices (researching, evaluating and liaising with suppliers. • Understanding of supply chain procedures. • Excellent verbal and written communication skills. • Able to multitask, prioritize and manage time efficiently. • Accurate and precise attention to detail. • Negotiation skills. • Able to make decisions in a face-paced environment.
