CPL require a Chemical Engineering Development Specialist for a leading multinational in Cavan. You will work on a newly established R&D team working on NPI and existing product improvements. You will be working in a new state of the art R&D facility due to open in March 2019. We are seeking an experienced candidate at minimum level of BEng with several years of relevant experience. Knowledge of mixing technologies and production of Polyurethane foam although not essential would be of benefit. Your responsibilities: Develop new and improved mixing technologies for production of Polyurethane products. Develop new foam producing engineering technologies. Support development of innovative development projects from small scale lab tests to on line large scale production. Work alongside development chemists to develop new processes and innovative methods to produce higher quality and new products. Assist production sites during implementation and scale up of new technologies and processes. Provide engineering support for new R&D facility. The work will consist of a series of projects aimed at developing new innovative solutions for product production. The objective would be to improve fire, thermal , span and environmental issues through improved engineering. Plan, Organise and progress your own Development projects. This would involve; A broad internet search, for example academic journals, discussions with chemical and engineering suppliers and meetings with our senior chemists to understand the project and identify possible solutions. Production of discontinuous new or improved formulation. Running full scale production trials in our UK or Irish plants. Write comprehensive reports to keep the management team up to date on all projects. Attend team meetings, both chemical and inter departmental, to discuss the progress of the projects being carried out in the Innovation centre. Attend trade fairs and conferences, meet chemical suppliers to uncover new chemicals and new technologies. Handle, mix and process chemicals in a safe and responsible manner. This will include risk and COSHH assessments. Education & experience. B.Eng in relevant field. 2+ years experienc ein industry or academic research. Salary & Benefits.
